Son Rob and colleagues have nominated Peter to be honoured for Name A Cable, here is Peter’s story
Peter was diagnosed with prostate cancer 6 years ago when he was running DP Building Systems, he asked Rob to take over the family business as he felt his health would stop him, so he retired in 2013 when Rob took over.
Dad was given the all clear 2014 which was a really boost to all us at DP Building Systems as a small family business we are literally an extension of our own families.
In the 6 years of being at DP Building Systems, Rob believes he has learnt more about running a business from Dad than 20 years within the IT industry (and he had come great managers).
Everyone at DP Building Systems selected Peter to be honoured, not only has he given us all an opportunity to be apart of a great family business but he has supported all of us in so many ways and we felt this is a great way to say thank you to him, especially through his battle against cancer.
As much as he is retired, he still is very much involved supporting the team in anyway he can – which we all see as a huge benefit.
